Billy the Kid VS Dracula

Here's John Carradine camping it up in Billy the Kid VS Dracula. They don't make 'em like this anymore. Once again, thanks to youtube, here's the whole film....

The Beast with Five Fingers

Haven't seen this in years. A great film with a great perfomance by Peter Lorre as I recall. I used to absolutely love this as a child.

The Beast with a Million Eyes

Beast of Blood

The Beast in The Cellar

The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms

This is a real favourite of mine. Great special effects work from Ray Harryhausen. Everything you expect from a good monster movie. Recommended!!

The Beach Girls And The Monster

Let's be honest. You can tell from the opening titles this film is going to be a work of genius. Surfing, rubbish monsters and groovy chicks in bikini's....what more can you ask for....?

Thanks once again to Youtube here's the whole movie!

The Awakening

"It is difficult to imagine a film more likely to send you to sleep." - The Guardian.

Sadly I couldn't find a trailer for this one. The only thing I could find was this clip. Not to worry though. You can take mine and The Guardian's word for it as it will indeed send you to sleep.

The Asphyx

The Ape Man

Thanks again to Youtube here's the whole movie. Not of Bela Lugosi's best but a few nice moments.

The Ape

Not just a trailer but the whole film you lucky people! Thanks, Youtube.

And Now The Screaming Starts

Funny how everyone remembers Hammer movies but fewer people recall Amicus. Amicus were great especially their run of portmanteau style films.

The Amityville Horror

There must be some weird copyright ruling on the cinema trailer for The Amityville Horror as the embedding on all clips on youtube had been disabled. Here's one of the original TV spots for the movie. Perhaps this film is a little on the silly side but it does carry quite a few genuine chills and you can't beat a good haunted house movie.

The Horror Film Handbook

One of my favourite books of all time has to be Alan Frank's Horror Film Handbook. I was lucky enough to come across this book at a car boot sale back when I was the tender age of 13 (1983). Being an average teenager I was fascinated by Horror films in particular the older ones. It wasn't so much a gore factor but I loved the old school creepiness of them. For me, at the time, anything with Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, Christoper Lee etc I treated like gold dust. Alan Frank's horror film Handbook was a great find. Not only did it list all those old school horror gems that I loved so much but it also paved the way for me to find out about other films and led me on the path to try and track them down. I always wished whilst reading the book there was some way of seeing the trailer to the film that was being mentioned in the handbook. Unfortunately at the time there was no internet so seeing trailers of these films was virtually impossible. Roll forward 28 years and suddenly it is possible and what a good idea for a blog. An A - Z of trailers of films that feature in The Horror Film Hand Book. This probably won't interest anyone other than me or anyone else who might have a copy of this book. To be honest it will probably only end up being a point of reference for me and that's ok but if anyone else gets a kick out of it as well then all the better.
